- In a show where pretty much every male character is ripping their shirt off at least once an episode, we have never seen Stiles shirtless.
- Stiles frequently wears his shirts in a fashion very popular with trans guys - an open button down shirt over a t-shirt is an easy way to draw people’s eyes in a vertical way, thus minimizing the chest. It also helps distract from any possible binder lines if you don’t want to wear an undershirt. Basically, Stiles’ frequent fashion sense is often given as a ‘passing tip’ to trans guys.
- No one uses Stiles’ legal name, ever.
- This one is hard to spot if you don’t know a lot of trans guys. But Stiles’ desperation in wanting to know if gay/queer guys find him attractive is a really really common thing in young or newly out trans men. We want validation that we are not only read as men but are read as man enough to be attractive to queer men. Yes, it’s a very sad thing and no, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. But most desires for validation are pretty irrational. Anyway this post isn’t about whether it’s a good or bad thing - just noting that it’s a common thing.
Academically, Lydia is one of the finest students I’ve ever had. Her AP classes push her GPA above a 5.0. I’d actually like to have her IQ tested. And socially, she displays outstanding leadership qualities. I mean, she’s a real leader.
hey remember that time when your otp from your favorite show was a slash otp and instead of writing you off and making jokes at your expense the creator of the show and the network of the show started encouraging your shipping and the cast learned what the portmanteau for your ship was and actually used it correctly and media sites drafted entire interviews about your slash ship and when the interviews were held there was still no laughing or making fun of your ship and then instead of freaking out and going “wait but no homo” the cast members of your ship told you they were on a ship pun intended and reached across a table to hold hands and instead of freaking out and going “wait but no homo” the network’s website now has an official video up of bloopers specifically about the characters of your ship and the creator compared your ship to romantic comedies
god damn i love being a sterek shipper
hey remember that time when the favorite otp of my show wasn’t composed of cis white dudes and when anybody who wasn’t a cis white dude like i dunno Danny wasn’t tossed under the bus because sterek is just so great right even though getting in on the joke doesn’t make a joke any less of a joke or any less hurtful and sterek isn’t canon yet this is queer baiting pure and simple but it doesn’t end there because to put the cherry on top of this to-do, of this puffing of air and glitter like hey call me maybe and we love you like that but not really because at the end of the day This Event Called Sterek is about cis white dudes championing as lgbtq representation and activism as they put down Danny’s and Deacon’s canonical queerness and Boyd’s and Erica’s and Scott’s potential queerness because ~*~Sterek~*~
hey
remember that time when Teen Wolf was more than Sterek?
#teen wolf fandom problems #side-eying the fuck out of this not even gonna lie #and note: this isn’t about shipping sterek #ship whoever the fuck you wanna ship #but it’s about the act of praising and/or idolizing sterek #as if shipping sterek is more than shipping #or if the Powers That Be get behind #it somehow makes Sterek or themselves better than anybody else #because more often than not #this willful worship ignores all the problematic shit that comes along with the way fandom and jeff davis treats sterek #and how both the powers that be and the fandom ignore that #and write testaments about how much jeff davis loves fandom when no really he just loves the sterek side #and ignores how he’s hurt other sides of fandom #and then how fandom mocks and ridicules and trivializes that hurt #it’s not about love #it’s just not
I agree with crowleyshouseplant, OP:

Danny Mahealani (SEASON 2)
↳ “It’s Danny. Everyone likes Danny.”
#i love the idea that they walk that delicate line between friends and lovers #and they walk it in such a way that there’s really no line at all
maybe he was getting clingy.

#I need all the fic where Melissa and the Sheriff are basically co-parents #because you can’t have one with out the other #and before Stiles was old enough to really cook for himself Melissa would send over a casserole to last them both a week #and the Sheriff would be sure to send extra field trip money with Stiles just in case Melissa couldn’t give any to Scott #and sometimes they get together for lunch just to touch base #and compare notes on the stories Scott and Stiles have spun that week #GO TEAM PARENT BABES
